Applying it to my business

Well-known companies such as Unilever, Philips, Kingfisher and Renault are already discovering new ways of creating extra value from each unit of resource, but there are opportunities for all manners of companies, large and small, and across all sectors, including manufacturing, retail, digital and professional services, often involving one or more of the following concepts:

  • Service systems – moving up the value chain, with a service, not product focus
  • Leasing / rental models – in turn this encourages the development of improved products designed for durability, not obsolescence, with remanufacturing options built-in
  • Incentivised return – development of take-back or buy-back schemes with the implementation of the required reverse logistics operations
  • Re-use - designing for remanufacture / recovery
  • Long life – ensuring maximum value from the materials through durability and extending the life of the product

At the CEBF we are committed to supporting the growth of this new way of doing business and supporting companies in the region to grow, by providing a central source of information, knowledge exchange opportunities and dedicated workshops and business support options.

Have a look at the case studies to see how other companies are already implementing these ideas.
